Well I finally finished the Mask project for Hospice! It took a lot of time but I am happy with the results and pray it brings this wonderful organization a lot of money! Back to the Mask. The turtle shell was created with thousands of little mosaic glass flowers from Italy. I hand laid the design and slumped the glass over the mask. Then I cut out the legs slumped them in the kiln. I also make waves out of sheet glass. The starfish is handmade too. Then I laid thousands of freshwater pearls and mother of pearl for the sand and to give it texture. Lots of glass here. Spent 3.5 hours with a glass shop helping me adhere all this glass to the wood. This measures over 2′. Anyway here we go. The event takes place of April 14th. This is a fun event, hope some of you will buy tickets and come!
